Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer
3.0
I picked up this book as a way to intentionally read Indigenous authors this month. I didn't want this one to end, which is saying something, as I don't often crave nonfiction.
A reflection on gratitude, respecting the Earth, and her Native origins, Kimmerer's Braiding Sweetgrass is mystic and lyrical--which is amazing, considering how much actual science weaved into each essay.
I came away with a renewed resolve to seek sustainability, see the art in the Earth, and a craving to spend time in the mountains.
