Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren

5.0

"Being myself is enough. I'm enough."

I cannot stress enough into words how much I love and adore this book! And yes, I did just give this 5 stars because I am so inlove with Hazel and Josh. ❤

"Bestfriends to lovers" stories are my cup of tea. There is something more intimate with friends ending up lovers. A friend knows who you are and genuinely loves you for it. So when bestfriends fall for each other, to me, it just seems so much real because they already know each other so well and still chose to love each other more fiercely and intimately because of it.

I enjoyed Hazel and Josh's story! From being strangers to awkward friends and to being bestfriends. You know that infuriating moment when the two main characters are so good and compatible with each other but they just don't realize it? This definitely gave me a lot of "Love, Rosie" vibes though a lot of the circumstances are different but the fact that the "one" they were looking for is just right under their noses and they can't fucking see it screams so much like Rosie and Alex.

I love Hazel's eccentric and quirky personality. She was not like any "other" normal woman but is just herself. Let me stress this: Being you is not weird. At all. If people cannot handle your personality and thinks you're weird and embarrassing then tell 'em to fuck off because no one should tell you how to be you.

I love Josh's quiet and loyal personality. Josh has always thought that Hazel was not his cup of tea and thinks she's so different that he may not be able to handle it but then, when they knew each other well and became the best of friends, he saw what people can't. Hazel was the best person he's ever met. Well, yes, she's different She is too much to handle at times. She is quirky and crazy at times. She may do things some people normally won't but she is herself and no one else.
No one should ever tell you to be normal because, what is normal anyway? There has never been a standard list of criteria to be called "Normal". People just set this certain standard of what normal should be. Being the real you should be normal. And I love Hazel for it! And I love Josh for loving her because of it!

Oh god, Hazel and Josh melts my heart. POWTA KILIG NA KILIG AKO! They are now one of my favorite book couple and the epilogue is just so cute! I felt really, really happy how this book ended. I don't think Christina Lauren can write anything bad. I LOVE HER! ❤
