Supernova Era
by Cixin Liu
It was an interesting idea, but I disagree with some of the conclusions the author drew about how society would work without adults. Granted, I don't have kids, I'm not around them a lot, and it's been a while since I was one, so maybe this is naive of me, but I just don't think they're uniformly that violent and excited about real bloodshed. I would object to the portrayal of the American kids here, but so much of our media is about explosions and violence that I can understand why we're depicted this way.
Plot-wise, I was much more interested in the Chinese leaders solving their domestic problems than I was with the war games section - I've never liked war stories and maybe wouldn't have read this book if I knew so much of it would be describing battles.
Overall, not my favorite of his, but I've liked his other stuff enough that I'll keep reading him.
