The Barren Grounds by David A. Robertson

5.0

What a gorgeous book. The sell of "indigenous Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" is pretty dead on. Except this is so. so. so. much better. Complex- not a single character is flat. It's modern, respectful of the past, full of new information. A book both young and old fantasy readers will love.

Book 2 comes out in a couple weeks and I am READY. My heart was sad when I finished...both because the ending is rather bittersweet, but also because I have to wait!
