A Destiny of Dragons
by TJ Klune
No less inappropriate, heartfelt, hilarious, and gut-punching than the first book in this series. I love seeing the connections Sam has with his rag-tag group of heroes, and how incredibly deep those connections go. We see Sam start to fray a bit in this book after he learns of the prophecy set upon him. A heavy burden of saving the world, or dooming everyone he loves to death. A personal burden of realizing the possibility of losing his love and his cornerstone is greater than he let himself believe. The knowledge that things have been kept from him his entire life by the people he trusted the most. Really fantastic follow up that ends on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see where it goes next!
