This is one of the most unique books I’ve ever read! Everything from its world building to races to characters and lore are completely original! I loved it!
The story is engaging and fun, though there were a couple moments near the end that, while surprising, seemed to come a bit out of the blue (though I might have missed a clue). A very small nitpick, because I absolutely fell in love with this exciting new world!
Eva is a complex girl, and though I did love her, she became a little aggressive near the end. Still, her motives were justified and I can see she has the potential to go far. The side characters completely stole my heart, however! Aketo is swoon-worthy and Baccha is an excellent morally grey character.
I’m just going to reiterate how utterly unique the magic is and how deeply I love it. Because I do. I’ve never read anything like this before and am very excited about the second book!
