*ARC review* What a wild ride this book is! It is set in current times but with a twist… an island with its own ancient culture that focuses on women and men being equals, with a matriarchal focus- named Teleosis.
In the background we learn of the Serpents who believe that self is the only way, and wants to diminish and destroy what Teleosis stands for.
Our FMC is Inira, the one who was meant to be the High Priestess of Teleosis. Read to find out what has happened to prevent that, and the future of the island and culture. One of the big focuses of this story is trauma and healing.. if that’s not your cup of tea maybe not for you.
Some of the writing I found drawn out and quite formal, but perhaps it’s intended that way. Aside from that this story is full of action and suspense, I enjoyed this book!
