Disappointed with this one because the premise was cool and could have been really creepy. It felt unnecessarily bloated and staggered along in parts. I didn’t gel with the writing style, full of cliches that cheapen any element of horror. It was nice to get some lgbt+ representation in a book set in the 1920s, but even then the main character’s whole personality is that he’s trans and real trans people aren’t two dimensional.
