Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson
4.0
A really good novella that offered a lot more insight into Lift’s character and how the events at the end of Words of Radiance affect the wider world of Roshar.
I had a lot of fun reading this and Sanderson obviously does a great job with immersion and making the world feel alive as well as portraying characters emotions perfectly and the dialogue is fun and interesting with Lift being quite a unique character.
However, i don’t think this Novella reaches the highs that the rest of the stormlight archive books have achieved so far, which I wouldn’t expect from a side story anyway. The action was good but not as good as it has been in the past books imo and the character interactions, whilst also good, felt similar at times with Lift always being sarcastic and having a quirky response to everything and everyone.
But I really enjoyed reading this and it seems pretty essential to the series and with the ending of this and Words of Radiance, I’m looking forward to reading Oathbringer.
