Overall reco:
I struggled with my rating here. I'm still on the fence between a 4 and a 5. I feel like I've read like 10 5 stars books in a row and I'm losing my touch buuuut meh.
After reading Moth (book #5) before this one I already knew how this was kind of going to end up but damn was I still surprised. Aury is so damn sweet, like so bad I would argue I needed to brush my teeth after. Ghost was a ball of nervous anxiety that just spiraled and spiraled and while mildly annoying felt really honest.
I do like the way this world interacts, characters feel very 3d and not just their tropes. The sneaks of other characters and their introductions and bystanderness is very honest and interesting.
Overall here, this was enjoyable, and I felt the story was great and I really like Ghost and Aury but it was just a little.. not quite? Like. It's hard to explain as its just such a minor thing but while the others have felt like "YES, 5 STARS" this didn't hit that thing for me. Maybe because I'm coming off several 6 stars type reads? I dunno. I would still highly recommend, especially if you are reading the series. It's a great read, really lovely I just floundered a bit with getting into it.
