The Chase by Elle Kennedy

I’m quite disappointed in this one! This was the last read of the 8, this series for me. I loved Summer. In the other books where she’s present, she’s described as quite annoying and a lot, so when I got into it I thought her perspective would be a lot, but it wasn’t! I loved reading from her point of view and her thoughts, she was kind and genuine. Her ideas on things were headstrong and she’s a great friend. It was also refreshing to have her insecurities out there and see how she dealt with them. I hated Fitz. Him and Summer have zero chemistry, nothing even happens between them until 70% in, like what! I honestly felt like this was just a book about Summer and I was good with it. Fitz was so rude to Summer, calling her a bitch, calling her drama over and over, calling her a brat, lifting her over his shoulder, like no, sorry. Summer is supposed to be this feminist, stand up for women and herself character, but Fitz tears her down and brings out her insecurities and somehow she’s into it? There was also barely any hockey in this book and barely any of them being together, then it just ends. It was so odd. Fitz was too closed off and too concerned with being in the spotlight and he just takes that out on Summer and yet is somewhat still attracted to her? None of it made sense and I couldn’t buy it. This book was dry.
