An interesting and innovative take on the Carmilla story set in modern times with a focus on dark academia. I particularly enjoyed the relationship between vampires and teachers grooming young people around them and the toxic relationships that form around these parasitic bonds.
I don't want to spoil anything but I appreciate how compelling and lyrical the point of view chapters for Carmilla and Laura are, despite their backgrounds and characters being incredibly different and yet similar in fundamental ways.
