Who doesn't love some messy family drama?

For a book written in the 19th century, this book is really good. It touched a lot of aspects of life; faith, psychological, existential, social, cultural, you name it. The plot itself was actually not that spectacular, but for its time, it sorta was. It delivered in a deep, full of nuances way; it made you think instead of just read. Dostoevsky also let his story to unfold slowly and naturally; lots of conflicts beside the main conflict, some dragged for a few chapters, some don't even have resolutions—but that said, if it was intended from the start to be a book instead of series, I feel like he could compact it a little lol. The characters were complex, you can't really blame anyone (except maybe Fyodor). Surprisingly, the humor were good too.

The translations was quite hard for me to understand (which is understandable, it's a classic) as English is not my first language, but I quite enjoyed it. I probably should re-read it when I have more time and clearer headspace though.
