He Hates Me by Rina Kent, Isabella Starling
2.0

You know, this is one of those books where the leading male ends up as a blood-seeking killer, and a nice leading lady has the ultimate extreme kink because of a trauma she had. And there's this evil that binds them together.

This book is NOT A ROMANCE! It's an abusive relationship where both sides are MENTALLY ILL. The man is THE ABUSER, and the woman is THE ABUSED. Their lives aren't a safe haven either; they actually need to survive the evil to have a life.

Generally, I'm not too fond of killer Hs, and here I am reading a book where the H is a hitman; but when I actually like everything else, I am still able to vote higher.

HERE I COULDN'T BECAUSE

* Jasper is too much, seriously, the man is the psychical form of "sick horror." I am sorry for him. I truly am, but his final product is not appealing to me. And calling Georgina as Pet or Petal didn't help me like him either. His treatment of her is unacceptable! Oh, let's not forget that he is also the ultimate stalker (Joe from You kind). Shortly he is irredeemable!

*Also, Georgina's kink (it includes actual psychical violence) is too much for me; all I can see is the horror and disturbance. But as always, I found the leading female likable. Except for her kink, I actually liked her—a cat lady who is the mother of two adorable ones, Bingley and Hudson. I am also terribly sorry for Georgina; she deserved none of them. I wish she had the power to fight back. I wish she could survive... Sadly, she is an actual masochist because of her trauma.

OVERALL

*First of all, I am so sorry that I couldn't vote for this book any higher. I just can't. Her kink is a trigger for me; It is too much...

*Secondly, maybe I am not the most objective reviewer for this book because of my particular nuisance towards creepy killer leads!

*MOST IMPORTANTLY: While all those horrible and terrifying things going on, this book still feels like chick-lit. It is disconcerting!!! It is not a daily office romance; the issues are bothersome and dark, for f.ck sake!

*Besides what I mentioned above, the story is okay/average in general. I didn't found the twist so surprising. Still, It was okay.

*There were some AWW moments that I actually wanted to vote higher for this book, but then the end happened, and I remembered my annoyance. With everything that is happening around them, Jasper is still all about animating her ultimate fantasy(!). Yeah, right, it is the exact time for that, Jasper.

*I wish things had been different for both of you, dear Jasper and Georgina. All I wish you is sanity and health!

*No, I won't be reading the next book... Oh, but If they don't have a happy ending, I might actually consider reading it.

*Shamefully, he is just the guy on the cover, I know, but I can't help disliking him. His innocent looks + chick lit vibes on the cover, all of it, I am seriously annoyed; this is not a cover for this book! (But again, sincerely sorry, dude!)
