Solidly four stars I think, I devoured this book, but while the burn is slow and was the relationship itself was solidly paced, the latter half of the book felt rushed. I think it was the better choice, rather than dragging out the conflict, and I did BELIEVE in the conflict but it felt a little off. I'm trying to formulate my thoughts, so I may add more later.
I think it's fair that the conflict at the very end (like closer to 90% rather than 85%, and felt like it was a gut punch with how sudden it was) affected the pacing, and how Luc is seen as unlikable. However, I found the 50-60% of him figuring things out made it more realistic when he was able to support Oliver and throw himself into the relationship. Still torn about the pacing, but I did find this book very honest that I couldn't really knock the characters. Maybe because I relate.
Overall though, I loved the characters, loved how tropey a lot of it seemed (and seemed aware of that), and it was overall very funny. I like how different the characters were, but similar enough that when conflicts arises they both rose to the occasion able to understand each other. It was brilliant in that way, and I'm excited to see where the sequel will take them.
This might be a book I will like better on a re read when I'm able to absorb it a bit more and bask in the moments, but the audiobook was pretty good.
