The Black Prince by Iris Murdoch

1.0

Iris Murdoch is a very famous writer. I was advised to read this book as a sample of her style. I couldn't force myself beyond reading half way through. Her style is very easy flowing, giving the impression that she's putting into words a story she's saying, keeping the reader relaxed as to the style. Nonethe less it was too deep into the human sou for my liking. Pretty dark, showed the darker - yet realistic- side of people. the characters were quite stressed, making the reader stressed too, even though not much is going on. yes, this is a school of thought altogether, but it's not a school I would like to enroll in. Not recommended when you're feeling low.
