The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum
4.0

My first Oz experience ever!
Despite being a children's book (and a good one at that), I mainly enjoy the brilliant layered simplicity of The Wizard of Oz.
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘪𝘮. "𝘍𝘰𝘳," 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥, "𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘺 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘯."
People often and easily justify and accept power as they do with being smart, kind-hearted, and brave. Interestingly, among the four, only Dorothy has a tangible and physical wish. A need that is not open to be fulfilled by social pressure or persuasion. And definitely cannot be redefined or talked into existence.
