A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L'Engle

5.0

I started reading this soon after reading the first one a few years ago, but didn't get into it. Later, I loved the first book so much I bought the whole series for myself, and started reading this book for the second time, determined to get into it. Well, I did, and it was wonderful. A few good quotes:
"I'm real, and most earthlings can bear very little reality." (The Cheribum speaking to Meg, p.92 of my Square Fish copy.)
"Don't try to comprehend with your mind. Your minds are very limited. Use your intuition." -Blajeny p. 146
"The Ecthroi are those who hate, those who would keep you from being Named, who would un-Name you. >>>It is the nature of love to create. It is the nature of hate to destroy.<<I did not, hoenstly, enjoy this book quiet as much as A Wrinkle in Time. But they are both wonderful, and this book does not compare a parading women-abusing monster to Jesus, calling them both "bringers of light," as the first one did.

I'm gonna take a bit of a break from the series and read A Swiftly Tilting Planet in about a month. That one is exclusively about Charles Wallace, so I'm excited.
