The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
5.0
TW: Child Abuse, Drowning, Death, Cheating
That. Was. A. Masterpiece.
I have no words to describe this book and why it is so perfect. But for someone who has never read a horror book in her life (because I'm a huge scaredy cat) this was the perfect book to dip my toe into the genre.
I probably won't pick up more horror books (because I'm still scared of little things). But I will certainly read more Neil Gaiman.
