more a philosophical, sad, and reflective book than a science fiction and horror-focused one as it is often described. victor is annoying and self-righteous and i found it hard to get through his ramblings near the end. i wish the book was more focused with the complicated relationship between creator and creation instead of victor's agony.
the part where the monster's monologue was detailing his stay at the french family's hovel was def my favorite.
