Sweetling is not at all what I expected, it’s BETTER! SE Wedel has delivered everything you could want in a fantasy romance and more. Cozy, enchanting, thrilling, and spicy, this book swept me off my feet. Wedel’s writing style is utterly captivating, and her world-building and character introductions only get better with each installment.
Every time I read one of her books, I think, This is my new favorite! until the next one comes along. Sweetling is no exception.

One of my favorite aspects of this series is how each book can be enjoyed as a standalone but also weaves into a larger, interconnected world. Now that the third book is out (with more to come), I’m making it my mission to reread them in tandem to catch all the connections!

Allarion and Molly’s story is as magical as it is romantic. Their chemistry is undeniable, following their journey as they fall head over heels for each other was an absolute delight. Allarion has a way with words that makes your heart race and leaves you breathless, I can see why Molly was constantly weak in the knees.
The spice! My goodness, it was equal parts loving, enchanting, and utterly scorching. With magical tendrils and tantalizing bite play, these two practically set the house ablaze!. Molly is his heart in every sense, bringing him to life both literally and figuratively. Allarion reminded me of a certain beloved wizard (Howl, anyone?), searching for love and purpose to truly live again.

The sentient house and magical surroundings add such a whimsical, fairytale-like touch, I’m convinced Allarion is a Disney princess (maybe a goth one, that listens to MCR  and Evanescence. lol) with woodland creatures and a forest ready to protect him and his loved ones.
And then there’s Bellarand the Black,(aka the c8ckblocking pony, aka his Pony Royal Highneigh, Defeated by the Nut Brigade) absolutely lovable in a stabby, sassy way. His antics and razor-sharp wit had me giggling the entire time. I couldn’t get enough of his hilarious banter with Molly, the special bond he shares with Allarion and his never-ending battle with squirrels.

The cliffhanger at the end of the epilogue jaw-dropping. I was not expecting it, and now I’m in the throes of a massive book hangover. I can’t wait to see where the next story takes us!

I was given a an advance copy by the author and all my opinions are my own. thank you so much S.E Wendel for sharing this beautiful story with me.
