A Great Continuation

After reading King and Tyrant, I was so ready to get Bear's story. This book is so well written, you can't help but be taken away with this story. Bear is part of the trio of badass best friends. It was always King, Bear and Preppy wading through and surviving their messed up childhoods and lives. Through all the ups and downs they always stuck together.

At the end of Tyrant, they suffer a great loss and an attack from an enemy. Bear is brutally tortured. In this book, we get to see how he deals with the aftermath of what happened to him. He leaves the only home he is a ever know. He tries to get over what happened to him by self medicating himself with Jack and women. He is pulled back into the fold when Thia walks back into his life.

Thia and Bear met when she was only ten years old and Bear was a twenty-one year old know it all. When she is held at gun point by one of the Beach Bastards, Thia is saved by Bear. In exchange for agreement for not calling the cops on them, he gives Thia his club ring and a promise to her that if at anytime she needed help, that she can go to him. He made this promise thinking she would never take him up on it, man was he wrong.

When trouble lands on her doorstep she runs to find Bear at the Beach Bastards Club House only to be met with his sadistic father. After escaping whatever torture they had in store for her, she is brought to King's compound where Bear reluctantly returns to. What he is met up with is more than he ever expected.

Like I said earlier, this book is so well written. I was swept away immediately. This story took hold of me and would not let go. Between Bear's tortured soul and Thia's strength and determination to fight through their and her issues, I had to know what happened next. I am looking forward to Soulless to see what happens next.
