I thought this book had a lot of promise, but overall it felt too cliché and cookie-cutter to really be a satisfying read. There a major plot "twists" that were easily predictable early on in the book; I kept hoping my expectations would be subverted, but everything went exactly as I expected. Both the protagonist and her love interest are very typical YA protagonists as well, so their romance was pretty unengaging for me (but I can see why a younger audience would enjoy it more). I think the Warcross series has a lot of potential if it delves more into the "technology dystopia" side of things, but this book did a very basic job in terms of plot and character.
