The year is 1995, the place is Coldlake Falls, Michigan, and the road is Atticus Line. After taking a wrong turn, newly wed April and Eddie, find themselves lost on the deserted road, and something feels seriously wrong. Their honeymoon will be one they never forget after they decide to help a lone girl, battered and bloodied, walking along the roadway in the darkness of night. Once inside the car, the girl mutters “He’s coming” and headlights appear in their review mirror. Eddie and April now find themselves as lead suspects or witnesses in the murders that continue to accumulate on Atticus Line since the 70s.

I gobbled up Murder Road in one night. There’s
something about St. James’ writing that makes me not able to put her books down, and binge read them. Murder Road is a supernatural thriller with light undertones of horror, similar to other books that she has written. This one reminded me a lot of an episode of Supernatural, and is definitely a great Summer read.
