Closer to 4.5 stars. I’m absolutely in love with Susan Dennard’s characters. For such a large cast, they’re all so different and interesting and fun. This book was also very well plotted— every scene felt purposeful and there was never a moment where I felt like nothing was happening. However, there were definitely some chapters where I felt confused by what was happening and how the characters got there, so I had to reread a few chapters as I went. Overall, though, I love this world, these characters, this book, and this series.
