Special thanks for SMP Romance for sending a finished copy in exchange for an honest review.

A Bad Day For Sunshine by Darynda Jones is in a league of its own. About twenty pages in, there is a quote that describes the town of Del Sol….”it was also quirky and charismatic and unpredictable” and boy did that not sum up this entire novel.

A Bad Day For Sunshine is such a fun read! It is entertaining from the start to finish. Readers will be s so captivated as Sunshine Vicram navigates two missing persons cases plus digs into her own backstory as well.

Sunshine is one amazing woman. Her friendship with her BFF Quincy will have you laughing for days. Her relationship with her family, her daughter Auri, and her other deputies is on point. And then there is her love interest, bad boy Levi. There is sooo much history between these two that I cannot wait to see what is in store for them. I have theories, Reader…so many theories!

As a first time reader, Darynda definitely won me over with her eccentric yet heartwarming and lovable characters, with her ability to write captivating scenes and with her ability to keep me on the hook. There are a bunch of unanswered questions and unsolved mysteries including the Sunshine’s own abduction that will keep this series going for a while.

My only issue with the book is that I have to wait an entire year for the next!

Recommendation: Suspenseful. Hilarious. Witty, Sarcastic. Charismatic Quirky. Entertaining. What more could I want?
