Beneath the Attic
by V.C. Andrews
Meh, I agree with those who have said that this is not well written. It’s quite clunky in places. The main character, Corrine, the grandmother of Flowers in the Attic’s Corrine, is a vain, narcissistic twit of a girl. It’s unfortunate that as a character her sole focus in life is to be attractive and alluring to men.
It’s been a long time since I last read Flowers in the Attic, almost 30 years, I think. I’ve read it more than once. The first time was when it first came out. I don’t think it ever needed any prequels. And, even though there have been ghost written V.C. Andrew’s books that I did enjoy, this wasn’t one of them.
