I enjoyed this book for the first two thirds and would have given it 3.5 if it had continued in that vein, but the final act after the thrilling climax lost all sense of pacing and got a bit boring as a result. I wondered how the author would avoid cliché and they did it by over-explaining stuff! The characters were well fleshed out though and the witchy stuff was fun so maybe I'm being too harsh.
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail, Sexual assault, Sexism, Chronic illness, and Forced institutionalization
