I have a lot of mixed feelings about this book. I mostly enjoyed reading it, and it went by very quickly in spite of the actual length, yet I found myself annoyed not infrequently.
Honestly, I think what bothered me most was that it felt like the author couldn't decide what kind of book she wanted to write. Sometimes, it was dark, gritty, and violent. Sometimes it was sexy, indulgent, and fanfiction-esque. Either of these would be perfectly fine, but jumping from one to the other multiple times within a chapter will give you whiplash, and doing it throughout the book makes it feel muddied and unsure of itself.
It was mostly fun to read, and an interesting YA dabble in faerie lore. Just be aware that it's 80% tropey romance, with plenty of powerful, bestial men looming over and flexing on our heroine until she swoons. Don't expect much in the way of deep plot, and note that the romance is interspersed with fairly graphic violence.
