Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult
3.0

Well, I guess I would give this 3 1/2 stars.

Jodi Picoult is always able to take four radically different genres (legal thrillers a la John Grisham, chick lit, Oprah picks, and readable non-fiction) and mesh them into a recipe for success.

Although I dislike the heart-string pulling and the sometimes "fluffy" nature of the prose, her books always keep me reading until the end. I would place them on the same addictive level as video games such as Tetris.

I did like how she took numerous different religious backgrounds and beliefs and played them off of each other using the various points of view of her characters.

The only quote worth quoting is one taken from the Dalai Lama:
"This is my religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness."
