The writing has improved slightly since the first book. I still enjoy her writing though. It is still simple, but enjoyable. The pacing never felt too slow or too rushed. Even the ending didn't feel rushed. That is the biggest problem I have while reading. I never wanted to put it down.
The ending was also a great twist. Definitely didn't expect it to turn out like that. But, I never try to figure out the mystery. I feel like it ruins the rest of the book for me. I don't want to know the ending before I finish the book. So, this was perfect.
