I enjoyed reading this book! Despite its issues, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before. I'm excited to look into olivie Blake’s other works. I'm certain there is a five-star in there!

The writing style was my favorite part. It is one of my favorites that I’ve ever read. Every single detail! How the story was set into acts and mini chapters. It provided lots of chances to stop. I’ll admit stopping was very difficult.

The characters were very lovable. Lots of characters are morally grey but it's so easy to ignore. My favorites were the main characters. Lev and Sasha. I loved the folklore elements in characters like Baba Yaga. The fantasy made everything so much better!

THE ILLUSTRATIONS!! So beautiful. I wish all books had things like this. It was a beautiful addition. My favorite part overall was the beginning. The mystery feeling.

I’ll go into my issues now:(. The constant parts of like — yes I do: she said, even with regrets: she didn’t say. They annoyed me. I think there’s a lot of risks the story could’ve taken but it didn’t.
I was fully preparing myself for the saddest ending but that wasn’t the case. I liked that but only to a certain extent. Character deaths didn’t feel very serious when they did come back. I'm certain something like that could happen with Masha and Dima. Maybe this is me being dumbdumb (by Red Velvet) but some things were confusing from time to time. One risk is the family rivals. Im not a fan of enemies to lovers but you’d figure that would be here, it wasn’t. I kinda wish there was more family drama hahahahahahahahaha.
