“It's important to take care of the past. To revisit it, to study and learn. Understanding the past helps us move through the present and discover the future.”

This book just represents everything that I love. Jacob being one of those things. Definitely my favorite Cassidy Blake book.

“You are my best friend.
In life. In death.
And everything in between.”

Ah, V.E. Schwab. Your books will never sell me short. Maybe I'm just biased (which I totally am), but I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!

I liked the first book a fair amount, but this one gave me all of the Queen Victoria Schwab vibes that I love so much.

The plot was better in this book--and faster, which is what I liked about it. Also, IT WAS IN PARIS. Which, is quite possibly my favorite city on the planet. I loved the French culture that was woven into this story. Also, I forgot to mention this last review, but I loved the photography aspect of the book as well.

Y'all, I love Jacob so much. Their relationship killed my heart and soul because of how adorably sweet it was. Poor Jacob, I cried through his scene at the end, and just--ah.

If you're looking for a fun middle-grade adventure with mystery and high stakes, this is your series, friend.

Have a wonderful evening
