ohmygod. this book is incredible. a dark and grim fairytale that i ate up like candy. the author creates such a compelling story and setting, with the fantasy mixed in with history. the main character luzia is relatable and fierce, and her magic is limited in a way that makes the story more intriguing. also santángel is a compelling character with growth that really complements the slow burn between him and luzia. a few really spicy scenes that are incredibly written, but overall the pining and yearning and the dynamic between the romance and the terrible world of the inquisition makes you as a reader truly wish for their success. beautifully written and well enjoyed. could not recommend more!
