4.5/5
After reading The Assassin’s Blade and Heir of Fire, I seriously considered DNFing these books. Alas, I’m someone that likes to read all the books if I already have them and that was the case for Throne of Glass.
Now, SJM didn’t come to play for Queen of Shadows. I love powerful, strong-willed characters and QOS delivered that and much more. I’m still a proud Dorian simp (I screeched the second my man got that collar off) and I’m utterly in love with Aelin, Aedion, Manon, Elide, Nesryn, and Rowan. I’m still trying to forgive Chaol for spewing that much bs in one book.
Also, am I the only one with a soft spot for the ex-King of Adarlan (Dorian’s father)? Idk why his last seconds of life really killed me. Nevertheless, I’m glad Dorian killed him 😌✌🏻✨ My baby deserved that closure.
I’m still trying to find a book that matches the greatness of Crown of Midnight, but I must say that Queen of Shadows is now in second place.
