The Midnight Feast wasn’t a bad read, but I’ve definitely enjoyed some of Lucy Foley’s other books more. One thing I always appreciate about her writing, though, is how she makes the setting feel like its own character. In this one, she really brought The Manor and the town of Tome to life—you can practically smell the salty air and hear the creak of the old walls.

That said, I think there might have been one too many POVs for me to really sink into the story. It didn’t help that I didn’t like most of the characters, which made it harder to connect. But once all the puzzle pieces started falling into place, I was hooked. The twists and turns were so satisfying to watch unfold.

I do wish there had been more focus on the birds, the town lore, and that eerie pagan atmosphere—it was such a unique thread and I wanted it to be woven deeper into the story. Overall, though, it was a quick, easy read with an ending that ties everything up neatly.
