Stinger by Robert R. McCammon

3.0

The most fun McCammon novel I've read yet.

Fun, fast-paced despite it's length, gory. This one's pretty good!

A number of character choices felt a bit unrealistic, there were some pretty big conveniences in the climax, yet again some racial stuff handled in an iffy at best manner, but this book was basically just fun to read. Large cast of characters, significantly improved characterization (despite some unrealistic decisions--the parents at the center of the story in particular), fast paced despite it's length.

The literary equivalent of a fun horror film. It's not saying anything, or teaching you anything, or aspiring to be anything more than some fluffy horror entertainment, but it absolutely meets that goal.
