The Case for Keto: Rethinking Weight Control and the Science and Practice of Low-Carb/High-Fat Eating by Gary Taubes

4.0

I have been staunchly, stubbornly hateful of the current Insta-guru Keto fad. Because… carbs. But um. Taubes makes some exceptionally well-researched arguments in favor. At least for certain insulin-resistant fat folks (like me)

Scientific diagrams and research! Oh no!

He’s a bit over the top with his anecdotal insistence that total abstinence LCHF is the only way for insulin-resistant people to eat, forever. Clearly this works for him long term, but there are other less extreme maintenance methods to consider.

But overall, yeah. To my surprise, it’s compelling stuff.
