This whole series is so good - I would happily read them all in a single binding (and probably a single sitting!). This one feels very much like Grossman’s other stories in the vivid setting, all too relatable characters, dark humor, darker plot elements and unflinching action. There’s a very distinct atmosphere to this story that reminds me so much of The Magicians and it was very fun to be back in that headspace with a rather different story. I found myself 75% through wondering how on earth he’d be wrapping it up in just a few more pages and if anything, the less than 5.0 rating is from me wanting more of this world and these characters. But as it stands, it’s a very good story and a perfect addition to this collection.
