I love middle grade that talks about social justice issues in an accessible way and I feel like this book really fit the bill for that!! I really liked the way the issue of gentrification was portrayed and discussed throughout the story and I feel like this story really gives younger readers the space to process and understanding what gentrification is. I also really appreciated the relationships that were explored in this book and how central they are to the plot. Overall, I just thought this was a really sweet book and I really enjoyed my time reading it and I think it’s one that a lot of kids will enjoy!
