The Sandman Vol. 5: A Game of You by Neil Gaiman

5.0

While this volume doesn't focus too much on the Sandman, but rather someone who's life he affected in previous volumes, it does tell an engaging story and leaves the reader with a definite creep factor at some points.

Each of the characters were unique and there are a couple I would like to see more of (Thessaly!). It was a definite adventure as the women struggled with their own identities and relationships, along with supernatural elements. I found Wanda's story to be the most powerful and compelling. The magical element and spells were creative and added to the surreal nature of the story. And it definitely contained one creepy moment that I could barely stand to look at. I have a strong stomach but... ew.

While the series main character is noticeably absent, that didn't take away from my enjoyment or the trademark flow of Gaiman's dialogue. I loved it!
