Just My Type by Falon Ballard

4.0

In this second chance romance, former high school sweethearts, Lana Parker and Seth Carson are pited against each other for a dream job (especially for Lana). It's not just any competition but one that has to deal with each of their dating life.

It is an odd setup, but it worked for this book. I enjoyed Lana and Seth both individually and together. Lana's journey was more personal (plus this book is told from her point of view, so that helps). It seemed that she really found herself during the story. Seth seemed like he was a much more mature version of himself, who did a lot of self discovery off the page. Together, their chemistry was fun, sassy, and definitely present. They had great banter and I looked forward to their tasks as they worked through them. Plus the group Slack messages were great.

Props to Falon Ballard for the big confession moments! They were not over the top, but were completely charming. I was glad the book wasn't super corny.

If you are looking for a second chance that is funny, charming, and also a women's fiction book, check this out February 7, 2023. This is definitely worthy of your TBR list.

Thank you to Penguin Group Putnam and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!
