Autobiography of Red
by Anne Carson
I found myself extremely lost for a large portion of this book. I felt attached to the main character, but everything else was difficult to get through. Luckily I read this book as part of my library's LGBTQ+ book club, and discussing it with other members made me understand and appreciate this book a whole lot more.
Autobiography of Red is in no way a bad book. If anything it's the kind of book that makes me feel like a bad reader. I think this is the kind of book that really benefits from being read in a class or as part of a book club so you can dive into all the nuances Carson packs into it.
