A book that jumps around too much with multiple time lines that end too quickly at times. The writing is beautiful but at the same time clumsy.  The ending is ambiguous so not a satisfactory conclusion for me, but perhaps this was the point. Elle as the main character is torn between the love of her husband, Peter, and her love of her childhood friend Jonas, an "accident" keeping them apart. Elle was not a likeable character and her mother even less so. I didn't love the  book but didn't hate it either. The Book should come with trigger warnings.
