Fast paced, full of action ending. This was such a fun retelling! So unique and different. I felt like the characters had a special depth to them. I loved Peter in both books. I really enjoyed reading his pov, seeing him literally “grow”, as the books went on - was the highlight for me. Claire grew on me as the books progressed, and Lilly was such a great friend to both her and Peter.
What I enjoyed the most about these books, was the message portrayed within the story. How we have to face our shadows to overcome the scars from our past. If we never face the hurts, and the roots of where they come from, we won’t ever be able to heal. We end up just falling further into darkness. But when conquered, we grow and become the best versions of ourselves.
