I don’t think any of the movie adaptations (and if there ever are any more, I don’t think those’ll do it, either) have done justice to this book. Yes, they’re scary and magnificent horror watches, but what this book can do to you can hardly be surpassed by CGI and makeup.

Like many of King’s books, this is the story of a whole town. You meet so many of its people and locales it becomes hard to remember they’re not real. Sure, that leads to maaany pages full of information some may not find intriguing or necessary, but to me, learning all of a fictional town’s dirty, terrible little secrets is as rewarding as learning what IT truly is.
