And I Darken by Kiersten White

Listen. All you jerks who failed to tell me a trilogy existed about an alternate history where Vlad ČšepeČ™ was a woman? You are DEAD TO ME.

Oh, man. I am so starry-eyed right now. The funny thing is, this book is filled with things that normally I don't care for - politics and romances that are bad for you/love triangle issues being chief among them - but they were so well done, and so in context with what I might expect from a world where Vlad the Impaler had been born female.

I've always had a deep fascination with the story of Vlad III. It started because of my vampire addiction when I was young, I admit, but then grew into something all its own. I was so excited when I learned about this book, and I deeply enjoyed the way the author managed to stay so true to so many aspects of the history.

And Radu. Oh, Radu. I love him dearly and deeply and without reservation. I need all the happiness and joy for this soft, sweet boy. *ALL THE TEARS*

Really looking forward to diving into the second book!!
