Two enemies save each other's lives on the battlefield...of course romance ensues. I enjoyed this a lot after I got over my initial disbelief that

a leader would give away so much military/strategic information to a surviving enemy -- I still think it's dumb to do, stupid hero syndrome etc., but not quite as dumb as later events in the book proved.
