Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke by Eric LaRocca

2.5

I don't know what I was expecting... but it wasn't this :/

The writing style was different. A variations of emails and instant messenger chats. This was fine, but a lot of the details the characters wrote (or the tangents that they went on) did not feel natural.

Overall, I'd describe this as a shallow look at a relationship that quickly turns dangerous.
I could have used more examinations of the characters. What lead someone to ask these things from someone and what lead the other to desperately cling to their partner in such a way?
I'm all for ambiguity...but this felt more like the outline of a story rather than a completed work.

I liked the power imbalance between them, I liked the attachment Agnus formed to Zoe after past abandonment but it wasn't explored in any depth.

I really wish it didn't end where it did.
and least give me a police report or news article of what happened!
