The Bookshop Sisterhood by Michelle Lindo-Rice
3.0
I wanted to love this. A book by a Black author with three women of color as the main characters is what drew me in. However, I felt the book was more about each woman individually rather than as a group. Yes, they have moments where they come together as "sisters," but something felt flat for me. The drama is the main point of the novel, the bookstore they plan to open feels like an afterthought.
Although it took me a while to finish, I liked the novel, but it's not a favorite of mine. I'd say it's worth a read.
